Specialty Fish

There are several different types of specialty fish (and certain decos) in Fish World that perform various functions. Their special function will only work in the tank in which it lives. Specialty fish will not sell in bulk (nor will any fish that costs Fishbucks).

Specialty fish will have a question mark (?) over its picture in your inventory and in the Auction House that denotes what special function it has.

Algae Eaters & Cleaners

Algae Eaters and Cleaners keep your tank clean and prevent the green algae film from forming in your tanks. You can search both the Shop and the Auction House on the tag, cleaner, to see what is available for sale or auction.

Tank Lockers (formerly called Security Fish)

Security Fish were retooled as Tank Lockers when stealing was disabled in the game.  Stealing no longer exists. Placing a tank locker into your tank will prevent your friends from dropping items into that particular tank. There’s nothing worse than having a fully decorated tank and then having someone come along and drop 200 fish into the tank from their inventory. Having a tank locker resolves this issue. Tank Lockers cannot be gifted via inventory. They must be gifted by putting them into a tank, clicking on them and clicking the gift box to send it as an in-tank gift. You can search both the Shop and the Auction House on the tag, locker, to see what is available for sale or auction.

Happiness Fish

There are a handful of fish designated as “Happiness Fish”. These fish will increase the happiness level of all fish in the same tank with it. Different happiness fish have different amounts of happiness, usually between 25 – 75%. Examples of fish that provide happiness are the original Grey Dolphin and Robot Fish. You can read more about happiness here. Happiness Fish will not have a question mark (?) identifying them in the Shop or Auction House. You also cannot search on a tag to find them in the Shop or Auction House.

Treasure Collectors

A treasure collector works to collect the treasures that fall from the tank when you sell your fish. You can search both the Shop and the Auction House on the tag, treasure collector, to see what is available for sale or auction.

Revivers (or Healers)

Revivers (or Healers) bring fish back to life, but not instantaneously.  Place them in a tank with dead fish.  As they swim by a dead fish, it comes back to life.  If you have a lot of dead fish in the tank, this can take quite some time. You can search both the Shop and the Auction House on the tag,  reviver (or healer), to see what is available for sale or auction.

NOTE: Both Feeders and Premiums will also revive a tankful of fish.  Feeders are slightly better as they revive and feed, and therefore, do not need to stay in the tank. Premiums must stay in the tank or the fish die again. Premiums also don’t revive instantly. You must put the premium in the tank, leave the tank and come back.

Predators

A predator will “eat” certain coin fish (usually the starter fish and certain cheaper coin exotic fish). Predators and the prey they eat must be in the same layer or the fish will not be eaten. When a predator eats another fish, it sells the fish for you. You get the coins and XP. Predators are like you clicking and selling the fish one by one.  You can see the current list of predators here. You can see the current list of fish they eat (prey) here. You can search both the Shop and the Auction House on the tag, predator, to see what is available for sale or auction. You can also search the Shop and Auction House on the tag, prey, to see what prey is available for sale or auction.

Vegetarian Sharks (Veggie Sharks)

This is a special type of predator that eats coin decorations.  All fishbuck decos are safe.  Additionally, all decos that are not in the same layer as the shark are also safe.  It is a very useful fish for clearing a highly decorated tank.  If there is a premium in the tank, ach deco eaten sells for its full coin value; otherwise the deco sells at a discount (one third its full coin value).  You can search both the Shop and the Auction House on the tag, vegetarian, to see what is available for sale or auction.

Feeders

A fish (or decoration) which is designated as a feeder will forever feed all fish in the tank it is in, automatically.  Any fish in a tank with a Feeder will not show a hunger bubble, need to be fed fish food or die. You can search the Shop and the Auction House on the tag, feeder, to see what is available for sale or auction.

Premiums

A premium fish (or decoration) performs several functions all in one, thus the reason they are quite expensive. Premiums will keep your fish from getting hungry, your tank clean and add happiness, giving the entire tank 100% happiness regardless of how many decorations are in the tank.  Premiums, however, are NOT tank lockers. You do not require a cleaner or feeder if you have a premium in the tank.  Because of their 100% happiness boost, all decos will sell for their full coin value (what you originally paid for them). And if you sell your fish one by one (or have a predator eat them), all fish will earn the maximum coin bonus for that fish (the number in parenthesis after the fish’s sale price).  You can search both the Shop and the Auction House on the tag, premium, to see what is available for sale or auction.

Leveling Fish

Not really a fish with a function, Leveling Fish do, however, have special abilities.  You can read about Leveling Fish here. Leveling Fish will not have a question mark (?) identifying them in the Shop or Auction House. You also cannot search on a tag to find them in the Shop or Auction House.
